George Whitfield Jarden scrapbook, 1934-1938.

A scrapbook created by George Whitfield Jarden to document his activities as a Penn State student from 1934 to 1938. Materials include newspaper articles, wrestling team travel proposals, itineraries and materials about the national tournament in 1938. The scrapbook includes tickets to sporting events and sports schedules. There are also materials from Jarden's freshman week in 1934, invitations to dinner-dances for various fraternities, and materials concerning his commencement ceremony in 1938, including a photograph of the ceremony in Recreation Hall. Along with his graduation materials is Jarden's military training certificate, stating him to be qualified as a band corporal.

George Whitfield Jarden of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, received a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance from Penn State in 1938. Jarden was president of Phi Sigma Alpha, wrestling team manager, and student counselor. He was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Delta Sigma Pi, Blue Key, Parmi Nous, R.O.T.C. band, Blue Band, and Inter-fraternity Council. From the description of George Whitfield Jarden scrapbook, 1934-1938.
